Character Background

• History:
Character history
World history
• Core Relationships:
• Her Mother: Kokomi's mother is the previous Divine Priestess of Watatsumi Island, and taught her everything she knows about the job. While Kokomi was more reluctant on taking on the mantle, her mother seems to be someone who took to the position easily. She is someone that Kokomi respects.

• The people of Watatsumi: As the Divine Priestess, Kokomi is seen as the person who is closest to Watatsumi Omikami/Orobaxi, the god that the people of Watatsumi continue to worship despite being under the rule of the Raiden Shogun. They look up to Kokomi for wisdom and guidance. They would crowd around her everytime she takes a walk in their village, give her gifts and praise. Kokomi's mother has prepared her for receiving this kind of treatment. She strives to be a perfect leader and to never force her will on her citizens.

• Traveler (Lumine/Aether): The Traveler is one of the few people that Kokomi can show her real self: a tired girl who just wants to stay in her room, sleep, and read books. She can rest assured that no matter what she says to the Traveler, they won't go out of their way to change themselves based on her preferences (unlike her citizens, who would probably flood her temple with offerings of birds egg sushi as soon as they find out that its her favorite food).

• The Watatsumi army (aka: the Resistance): Kokomi is personally against the Vision Hunt Decree, believing that Visions are a symbol of a person's aspiration. Thus, Watatsumi became the headquarters of the resistance, a safe haven for people who also oppose the decree, and a base for those who want to fight back. Kokomi has never turned anyone away, even if the island has been suffering from transport and economic restrictions.

Even before the war, Kokomi is fond of reading military strategy. She uses that knowledge to help her men in fighting against the Shogun's forces. She joins their meetings, keeps tabs on their progress, and has written hundreds of directives to guide them if she is personally unable to be there for them. Her men follow her advice to the letter. Her appearance in the battlefield is a sure-fire way to increase morale.

When the war ended, Kokomi decided to continue to keep the army under her employ. Officially, it's to keep Watatsumi defended. But it's also because she's seen what happens if you abandon several shell shocked men with no means to earn money, as this is one of the many reasons why there many brigands in Inazuma.

• Kujou Sara: Sara is a part of the Tenryou Commission, and a general in the Shogun's army. Thus, she and Kokomi have fought in opposite sides of the war. Still, Kokomi admires her prowess, and her ability to instill loyalty in her men. After the war, the two would meet for peace talks. It's their mutual respect for one another, and the loyalty of their respective troops, that keeps tensions from escalating.

• Raiden Shogun: Kokomi has no intention of seeking revenge now that the war is over. If the Archon and her men would honor the peace, then Kokomi is more than happy to do the same. But if they attack again, then Kokomi is ready to defend.

Character Personality Through Key Moments

Positive Experiences:

Kokomi is a fair leader. Her leadership philosophy is ""as the ruler is, so shall the people be." She won the hearts of her people by distributing resources, rewards and punishments fairly. She listens to everyone's opinions and considers their feelings before making huge decisions. It would have been so easy to just discard the opinions of some low-ranking soldiers from her military when they expressed their longing for revenge and for their wishes for the war to continue so that they could keep having jobs. But instead of doing that, or getting mad at them almost starting another skirmish with the Shogun, she considered their feelings and made a new troop for them with the role of keeping Watatsumi safe from invaders... within Watatsumi borders.

Kokomi respects the individuality of others. This extends to sacrificing her own comfort. She is careful with her words, knowing that with her position and influence she can easily sway the opinions of her citizens by just mentioning a preference for something. This has made her seem mysterious, but that's a small price to pay for making sure her citizens retain their own individuality.

Kokomi is studious. She enjoys learning new things, especially when it has to do with military strategy. Her secret hideout is filled with two things: tomes on strategy and light novels (also military drama). Because of her hard work, she is able to come up with strategies for every occassion, and write them out in directives that are easy for her men to understand.

Negative Experiences:

Kokomi overworks. Being a Divine Priestess is a 24/7 job, and she pushes herself beyond her limits. She puts on what she calls her "Divine Priestess airs" every time she has to talk to others. Because this is far from how she perceives herself, this tires her out. To keep herself from breaking down in public, she has mentally takes note of her "energy levels," and will isolate herself for days to recover.

Kokomi is self-deprecating. Opening up to the Traveler, Kokomi describes herself as "some girl who likes to wile away her time at home." She thinks that Watatsumi needs a perfect leader, and she is far from that. The victories of the people of Watatsumi are everyone's, but their failures are all her fault.

Kokomi is a loner. A lot of her hobbies are solitary in nature. She likes diving and reading. Her dream job was to become a military adviser, not a leader of an entire autonomous island, because it means being able to stay in the sidelines. These are not negative traits per se, more like preferences, but makes for a terrible combination with her abovementioned other negative traits.

Deer Country Attributes

• Canon Powers: Kokomi is a Hydro vision user that specializes in healing. Because her weapon type is catalyst, she can control water and use it to attack. They usually take the form of small fish. She can summon a bake-kurage, a jellyfish made of pure water, that can heal allies and attack enemies within a certain distance. She can walk/run on water for brief periods of time. (For more information, see the talents section of her Wiki.)

Not opting for in-game powers right now, will let you know in the future.

• Blood Type: Warmblood
• Omen: Angelfish
• Blessed Day: February 22 (her birthday)
• Patron Pthumerian: The Doorway, who feels just as imposing and intimidating (if not more) to Kokomi as the position she inherited from her family.
• Blood Power Manifestation: Warmblood. I feel like adding more powers to Kokomi's healing, water manipulation, and mid-air floating might be overkill for now, so I'll play giving her additional powers by the ear.
